A variety of thoughts from chad loftis

Darkling (to leif cole)

Blank stares are the air you've breathed
Blown through long, vacant halls
And windows that let in walls.

Squint in the fluorescent's gleam
Since we've all broken off
Souvenirs of the sun.
Welcome to all we've done.
Welcome my darkling son.

Break bread and drink blood with me.
I'm resolved: I'll dissolve.
(Melt into everyone,
Save you from them my son)

He IS the sunshine boy. He IS the glimmer of true beauty. He has come into a world of sadness and has brought true joy.
No sacriledge intended.

this was powerful chad... thanks for inviting me into a glimps of what it felt like to sit with your son in a cold place, disarmed of your ability to make everything better... don't rush to redemption but teach him to be present in darkness as he waits patiently for the dawn. wait with him.

Thanks. the redemption part, just so you know, is entirely ironic - as if the one who fathered him into darkness could somehow save him out if it.
