Leif Cole (my son) had surgery today and the end of his bowel was attached to a newly created hole in his stomach. It sounds grotesque but it will let him eat and live normally for a few months until he is ready to have everything fixed.

chad... i'm glad to hear that surgery went ok. what a time of mixed emotions for you guys. we're still thinking and praying for you all. enjoy the beautiful gift of your son.

leif cole, you have already tasted deeply of what it means to live and do so in pain in suffering- may you also know a life filled with good food and drink... little friend.
