what a beautiful little boy.
i'm so glad he's home now.
does this mean you're pretty much out of the woods for now?

enjoy this time of excitement/confusion, joy/tears, frustration/satisfaction as you settle into the groove of parenthood and wonder how you could be so blessed to be given such a gift.

yyeeeessss. finally he is yours to keep. shame on those greedy doctors, don't they have enough children to shower them with attention.

when we brought sylas home we were thinkin' "they are just gonna let us take him? are they gonna check on us to make sure he's ok, maybe tomorrow or next week? where's the paperwork on this whole thing?"
it's bizzare, especially given that so many babys get taken "home" to crack-houses and unsafe environments, full of violence and neglect...
where am i going with this? don't know, i guess i'm trying to say congrats and i know you guys will charish this beautiful little gift.

I swear I don't take crack. I SWEAR!!! Actually, what is ironic, Phil, is that, given his condition and everything we do have a special nurse visiting our house every couple days to make sure he's growing and healing properly and that we're taking care of his stoma alright.
He's really healthy though - glowing with life it seems to me. We're out of the woods for now but he'll be back in them in a couple months when they "hook the pipes back up to his butt".
